James Pascarella and Joshua Elliott will participate in a Democratic primary debate at the Hamden Middle School auditorium on July 14th at 7:00 P.M. sponsored by the League of Women Voters.
James Pascarella, was endorsed by the Democratic Town Committee to represent the town’s 88th District. Joshua Elliott successfully gathered the necessary number of signatures to force a democratic primary with Mr. Pascarella to determine the democratic candidate to run for the 88th District House seat. The primary will take place Tuesday, August 9th.
The winner of the primary will face Republican, Marjorie Bonadies in the election on Nov 8th. The winner of the election on Nov 8th will replace Brendan Sharkey as the representative of the 88th district in the State House of Representatives.
The League of Women Voters encourages all residents to attend the primary debate to become better informed about the positions of the democratic candidates.
Residents may bring written questions to the debate or write out their questions at the debate, Questions will be collected and reviewed for clarity and to avoid duplication before they are submitted to the moderator, who will ask the candidates the questions.
Ask questions and get answers about the candidates positions on state issues that you care about such as: the cost of quality education, gun control and public safety, the state’s minimum wage and income inequality, retention of good jobs in CT, the Governor’s transportation plan including his proposed “tax on mileage”, environmental concerns such as removing trees along the Merritt Pkwy and other state roads, impact of climate change, immigration, aging & the cost of elder care, veterans affairs, clean money in our elections, state budget and social services, the state opioid crisis, health care, child welfare and human trafficking, and much more.
